Powder coat and diamond cut heads

Diamond Heads has some recommended powder coating vendors on their site. $550 sounds about right for the show cut (I'd have to dig up the receipt). They do a great job! If I was doing it again, I'd probably skip the powder coat,

How much should I expect to pay to get my heads powder coated and diamond cut?
I'll be doing my whole top end here within the next week I'm hoping and will tell u exactly what the cost is. But I do know that they offer 2 cuts, both prices are stated above which includes powder coating. I have to call them to make sure before mine are sent that way from the machinest.

So you would skip the powder coating and just get them cut and polished?

I would. I think you'll find the powder coating is as much as the diamond cut. I've also heard that it might retain heat...though I'm not sure of this. That said, if it's something that you really like, might as well do it while the whole top end is apart.

For what it's worth, although my jugs are powder coated black, I didn't powder coat the stash tube and oil cooler, and LOVE how the look.

Nothing beats highly polished motor it looks chrome I personally wouldn't do powdercoat or diamond cut
Yeah.. I agree.. but if u have a life u don't have a full weekend to dedicate to polishing it.. lol. That's why I'm powder coating. Way easier to maintain

Haha I have a life full of responsibilities honestly I polish the motor once a season it stays chrome looking but I also don't ride in the rain and elements that helps a lot
The last time I polished my engine is when I bought the bike, didn't even know it was polished aluminum until someone told me to clean it up.. lol.. took me two weekends and the first rain I got caught in after it only said 10% .. that was it.. I polish it little bits at a time here and there, but it's just way too much work.. and as far as season goes, out down time is from about July to October unless we ride at night. Lol
