Clutch failure

Clutch steels rusted and plates glazed. Baker open primary but never ride in the rain. Wrong ramp was in for the open primary, could that have caused the glazing?? Obviously the open is open to moisture so....

Sorry to hear Steve.. but yeah that open primary is only good for the West where things are dry.. idk n e thing about correct ball n ramp for that or me thing.. good luck with it brother..

Already replaced it all. But I gotta a need to know, you know. Lol

That was a moron statement if I ever heard one.. the normal humidity in the air is what I was referring to.. geez.. killin me smalls. Killin me!!

Damn! your plates make mine look new Steve! I'm not a fan of open primary's, and after seeing your pics, I really am not liking them!

If you ride it every week, there's no way those disc will pit like that. Ridden regularly any moron would know its not going to rust, nor will it rust in the rain. For instance, does you brake rotors look like this on your car? Hell no, grasshopper

All that road grime that finds it's way into the nooks and crannies , that ya gotta keep cleaning off .

Yep the salty air and not riding it enough to knock the salt off.

You can run a little brass wire wheel over those steels and it should knock the rust off.

He just put that on less than 6 months ago and if this happened (the pitting) that quick, I would say everyone that has an open primary in Florida is changing out the clutch every 6 months. Which I seriously doubt.

I put mine on a few years ago and it has been trouble free.

As has mine been! I do like my Baker open, haven’t touched it after my short venture to autoclutch few years ago. Who knows how the plates look though
