Clutch cable, shifter issues

I need to get my clutch cable adjusted, i have the manual and have wrenched in many cars and trucks, but never my bike, is the cable adjustment something simple?

And when i was out riding the other day, ? I noticed that the gear shifter doesn't want to "spring" back up into position for the next downshift, could the came be causing the pedal to not reenter for the next downshift?

Try lubricating the hem joints on the shift lever rod

Thinking "the hem joints" Is just red neck hillbilly for dem dar pivot points
