Older dogs with Ape hangers?

I have apes on both my bikes, and pretty much every bike I've owned. I'm a decent sized guy too, so my 20" apes aren't as high on me as they are some people. And for me, I've been a guitar player for 25+ years, and my wrists seem more accustomed to bend in that way, then with say drag bars.

I hear ya! Like I said, to each his own, if that is what works for you and that's the look you want, then it's badass brother!

Yeah, I'm not opposed to anything. To each his own. Hell, if the BD bars that came with it, didn't have such a drastic pullback to em. I may have left em on. But they were I think 8-10" risers with the pullback. I have a 78" wingspan, and that pullback just made me feel cramped. 10"-12" straight risers with the drags, I may have left alone. Guess we'll never know!

I have a set of 05 bulldog bars, they are the shortest bars Big Dog made, as far as I know, I had to lean too far forward with them so I put Mastiff bars on my bike, I think they were like 3" shorter than the Mastiff bars, maybe they'd work for you, let me know if your interested.
