When I got the bike it would go 125 before reserve. With all the jetting I've been messing with I hit 99 yesterday and made me nervous but I think I'm good. I'll look up the thread. I didn't even think about that yesterday.

Here are photos of the last two weekends, the 131 included about 20-25 miles in town, the 98.1 was all freeway miles - 48.06 mpg and 51.93 mpg.

Was that sitting at the same gas station both times and was the front tire turned the same way, that could vary a 1/2 gallon easy and if I fill it sitting on it I can get an additional 1/2 gallon in it. However I will only fill it that full if I'm just starting out on my ride for the day.

Looking forward to retirement
Gasoline prices are up more than 4 cents from last week and experts predict drivers could see a jump of as much as 10 percent or more headed into the busy Labor Day travel season.

More than 2 million barrels of refining capacity were taken offline because of Hurricane Harvey, which has pounded the southeast Texas coastline with heavy winds and drenching rains. Heavy flooding is reported along the Texas coastline with some areas receiving as much as 50 inches of rain.

One of our dredge holds 150,000 gallons. Back in 08/09 when fuel spiked at just over 4 bucks a gallon we bought 3 bargeloads in one 7 day period. It pays to have a fuel escalation clause in your contracts and by futures on long term jobs
So how long did the 3 barge loads last? and the reason I ask this is because a buddy of mine with his tractor has clogged up 2 fuel line filters with algae in 3 years from the fuel sitting for 6 months or so without an additive. I have 2-275 gallon tanks for my garages but I use diesel stabilizer to keep the algae from growing cause it lasts me over 2 years before I have to fill again.

We own 3 100,000 gallon barges and the tugs to tow them. I have seen one of our dredge burn just under 10,000 gallons in a day. We run around the clock 7 days a week. The main engines are 3608 cat and we have 5 3412 cats running 590 kw generators. Fuel doesn't stay in our barges very long and now we are required to burn ultra-low sulfur diesel.
The new rig we are building will have a pair of 500hp emd 720 series diesels for the pumps.
You ever look at Mann diesels? Heard they are quite efficient.
