When I hit the start button my slammer makes a clicking noise and the lights dim. I took my battery to the battery shop and they said it had a full charge and was working perfectly. Please help. Do I need a starter? It wasn't acting up at all prior.

I did lay the bike down the day before this all started happening. Someone pulled right in front of me in a parking lot and I dropped the bike because I locked up my front brake. It started fine after and I drove home without any issues.

Thanks for your help!

First off you should do an introduction, tell us a bit about yourself, post up some pics of your rides, married?Kids? Etc.
Check all your connections/wiring to the starter, you may have jarred something loose or damaged a wire, also check battery terminals that connections are tight. What year slammer is it? My 08 had a tip sensor that kept fucking up, but it would be dead with no clicking. What side of the bike did you drop it on? If it was the right side (starter button side) check the wiring going into the hand controls, could have pinched one, had that happen to Sue's sportster with similar symptoms. Good luck and report back..:old2:

It's a 2005 slammer that's right side drive, which is the side that it was dropped on. I'll check for loose connections... hopefully that's what it is. What exactly would the tip sensor do if that was activated? I'm not sure if it has that or not. Thanks for your help.

Tip sensor is a kill switch that is activated if the bike goes down, basically a ball bearing on a half circle track, once it reaches a certain degree on the half circle it shuts power down. Mine was malfunctioning so every once and a while it would shut the bike down while riding. Keep us posted with what you find, and not sure if you have an owners manual, but go to my Dropbox and have a look in the AIH folder, link below.

Doug has a great point.. I bought a fury that had been dropped and the guy was fed up with it so I got it for 2k.. I banged my head up against the wall and all that.. no luck.. took it to a Honda mechanic and found out that if the tip sensor is activated it has to manually be jumped to restart it back in place. Point being make sure u research it and figure out how it's ran and so on. U just so happened to get the only guys attention who still owns one.. Douggy.. lol I'm just sayin.. this is a Big Dog forum.. lol
