Guys, remember those old conversations about some of you had this issue? Well, the time has come for me...

Could someone, please, post the links about it? (can´t find them for some reason).

Or, if any of you remember how it is done, could explain it again?

Try welding it! Lmfao!!! Use a screw. Franco I thought it had come loose and fallen in your tank the way you were messaging me. Mr Wright is correct use the screw. Or take the tank off the bike, fill it with water and empty it several times. Then fill it back up so the water is about 1/4" from the tube. Then spot weld it. That's the way I weld on fuel tanks.

OK, its driving me nuts!!! today, finally, I got to it... guess what? that tube is NOT loose!!! what else can it be????

I have checked motor mounts etc, all tight. the noise its definitely coming from inside the tank.

Suggestions, please?

Can you remove the tank from your bike and then run a longer fuel line to the carb to see if the issue occurs with the tank on the bike or not?

Flashlight and a magnet? Take off the tank n shake it....iI hate noises that dont wanna be found.

There ain't too many parts inside the tank, tube and maybe the filter part of gas valve. Have you checked that? Also on my -03 I have big plastic looking pieces going around. Those are like 5mm thick 3cm radius pieces from liner... pain in the ass to get out. Been trying to wiggle them out with nose pliers from gas valve hole. Doesn't work too well... those fuckers are quiet though and so big they don't restrict fuel flow.

Drain the tank, remove it, turn it upside down, shake that marble that some asshole dropped in there out!

I used a shop vac with a short piece of garden hose attached ( AFTER DRAINING THE GAS !!) to clean out my tanks, on the off chance my stalling problem was fuel related. Wasn't fuel problem, but it did clean out some loose liner pieces. j

Those pieces are so big and rock hard they don't fit thru the hole planning to take the tank to our garage for the winter, put some bolts and nuts inside and ask everyone to shake the tank for a few minutes when they come to have beer! That should break the pieces smaller after a few weekends. And get rid of some of the rust I see inside the tank.

Too big to fit through the filler hole?? What is that stuff ? ya cant grab it with needle nosed pliers and break it up ? Maybe you could mix some potassium perchlorate with some fine aluminum powder in a 2 to 1 mix, dump it in that tank, put a fuse to it and light the fuse, it'll break up the chunks ( and take any dents outta the tank at the same time ) Just be sure to do it out in the middle of an open field, with nobody around ! Second thought, that probably aint such a good idea ! I just like things that go BOOM !

Yep, those pieces are huge hard and thick. Tried to break them with nose pliers, figured how hard they are and thought fuckit, let them be there I think its liner or sumthing. It looks like yellow hard plactic, bit like hardened JB weld, but yellow. What the fuck do I care about it, those have been there for 14 years, I check again in 2031.

Well, I am still waiting for a fucking reply!!!

What about cutting a hole underneath the tank (big enough to reach with my hand in there) with a handheld miter saw and afterwards weld the piece in place? Thoughts?
