Sanding the threads down will get you by till next time. I have a few if the threaded parts if you want. I can't promise they are any better but you're welcome to them if you like.

Stlmikie we're you at Big St. Charles yesterday? I'm sure I parked beside your dog; looked for you to come out. I was the phatass with the ultra parked beside you.

Thanks for the offer on the inserts....however

Not to be trapped again and wanted to be sure it fits. properly..I bought a new cap from BDM today... I will use my current one (very lightly) screwed on for storage and use the new one for the summer months.

It was $79.00 but I look at is as an insurance policy for the paint..

I put a dab of anti-seize on my threads every couple of uses and haven't had any problems so far. Good luck.
We all know these Dogs will vibrate the fillings from your teeth. I would be extremely careful about having a gas cap that doesn't have a snug fit. I've had one vibrate off my tank and somehow caught it as it was flying past me.

I was there! We were at the parts counter for an eternity. I was with Ryan Sutton. He was the parts guy at the big dog shop for a while. We were looking for a starter part for his bike. I guess my bike is a bit unique huh?:D

Snowmobile season is in full swing !

Check Fee bay if not contact Big Dog Performance. Bob will hook you up.
Yes it is a bit chilly (37 deg) but had to ride the new toy Bike is so sweet...purrs and sounds fantastic with the Kerker 2 into 1 ....people were waving and beeping a bit..The Dog was glistening for sure...snow cap pulled down to the glasses and riding leather on..it was awsome!!

Wanted to keep riding but came to my senses..

Just got back...

No salt on the road due to the heavy rains a few days ago and no snow in sight..

I plan on riding tomorrrow too..

My caps are tough to get off as well. I carry one of those kitchen jar openers in my front bag. I use it most of the time I fill up and it works great..i look around first though to see if anyone's watching.

Cant seem to be able to open the cap...wont turn either way. There is a very tiny free area but then it hits a brick wall...

Afriad to muscle it to much and screw something up...??

Very puzzling as I have been riding for 40 years and had countless bikes but never one with a stuck gas cap...!

Any ideas???????????????
My gas cap is stuck. I can turn it but it doesn’t seem to actually unscrew from the gas tank. It just trims and turn but doesn’t come out. Help!!

I'm having same problem but my cap is just spinning but not coming off I've tried everything. My next best idea is throwing a thin towel over it with 3 icepacks for a little while‍♀ I'm out of ideas.

I had to drill the cap off. I think it was a 3/8 drill. You might be saying, drilling the cap off!! I said the same thing. You just need to drill through the Chrome cap not the actual piece that screws into the thank once you drilled through the chrome part of the cap you will pop off the chrome part of the cap then you can turn the threaded piece of the gas cap by hand.
