Windshield bracket

My windshield bracket suffered metal fatigue. I'm lucky the windshield did not land on my face. Anyone know of an improved replacement such as stainless steel.

Did someone forget to tell you? I'm good. I wear out more taps than break them.
I'll urn them out on a CNC plasma. It will take about 20 seconds to burn 12 of them. It will take me long to clean up the edges than anything else.

No problem! Drill 3/8 " hole , slip 5/16" tap in and run a5/16" nut on it. Just make sure the tap handle is good and tight! Should work --- I think?

Stainless isn't that hard to work with, if you respect it,
I'm preparing another spud to make the gas saver rings. I get them 6 1/2'' long, 4'' dia. In just under an hour, I got it turned and a 1 3/8'' hole through it. I'll bore it to 1 3/4'' tomorrow, then start parting off the rings.

I spoke with Donna and Derek and the one they sell requires all new hardware on the shield. Shannon is making a part match replacement out of stainless which will fit right on and never break.

I really miss my windshield. It does such a good job keeping wind, bugs, small rocks and sand out of my face. I rode the windy coast highway yesterday and sand was pelting my face.
