Ok since Iam seeing it on facebook about starters lets finalize this... It all comes down to that seal thats letting all the oil in..soooo the other thing iam seeing is "dont buy them off ebay" ..so were do you get them from? And is there another starter out there for the Right side drives thats better.. I also notice that Wild Steel Works is not rebuilding them anymore(thats were I wanted to send it first) Now Dead One Custom is rebuilding them...correct? Has anyone had one done from there?Any did it do the job(no leaks).. Iam just trying to get this simplified for anyone that runs in to this problem again...Kinda like which 300 size tire is best and which aluminum cleaner is the best LOL!!! Thank You!! Steve

Yes I have and it will be done right, its the lack of the splash washer that someone didn't have when rebuilding them, DOC will put the oil relief in the nose as per the update in 05' and he has the splash washers if your doesn't have it. Call him, send it to him and he will check out your starter and call you with the price depending on what the starter needs. You will not be disappointed with his rebuild:whoop::old2:

Splash washer, oil slinger, or oil deflector. It's the flat pressed washer between the starter nose and the bearing. It's always been there on the OEM starters. It's almost a shim type washer as it's very thin.

I've seen some without it that were rebuilds. Certiantly it helps if it is there.

Only 6 starts? Do you have the primary vent on the back side of the inside primary.

Yea..that is a must really.

The pressure builds up in the primary and path of least resistance is your starter.

Derrick and Donna have them cost about $20 . It's just a threaded screen that you just drill and tap a small hole.

Believe those were OEM starting in 07

Thats interesting! Were can a person get those splash washers?
If ya find out let me know.

They are only 0.02" thick and have a pressed lip to fit around the starter Jackshaft.

Does your starter not have one now?

I really appreciate you guys helping me with this...I can be dumb ass sh!t with some of this stuff..
Talk to Jeff at DOC, he has them but he prolly wants your starter to make sure everything else is OK. The starter gears on some rebuilds are not the proper gear, they work but there not a perfect mesh.
