Replacement Horn

My stock horn on my 06 K9 broke off the mount on the side of the battery box forever ago (right around the bolt hole.) I got on Amazon and took a shot at this super cheap horn curious if it would work--the reviews are good.

Well, not only does it work, but it's LOUD! It's a bit 'jap' if you will and sounds kinda like a Honda or Toyota car horn, but nonetheless it sounds like a car horn! Very loud. I hit the button yesterday and it made me jump as I wasn't quite expecting it. Says 105db, no idea if that's legit or not but I can attest to it being loud. Spade connectors just like the stocker, bolted right up where the stocker was. Plus the metal mount tab seems to be a bit of a springed steel, so hopefully it'll allow it to move around a bit instead of breaking off.

I took the bike for an inspection. And before I left just made sure all the lights and horn worked.

Hit the button...yep still worked..haha. it gets used one time a year for inspections. Well actually he didn't even ask to hear it

That's funny. So Amazon will 2-day it to me for $2.88 more. I'm still perplexed as to how they make money selling items and shipping them 2-day for what seems to be a small spread in shipping cost to the buyer.

One thing I do like about Amazon is they'll take anything back. If this horn had showed up and not worked they'd give me a return label for free and a refund.

I'm running one of those Bad Boy air horns. Super loud, so I thought game on, I have the sound meter app.
So I go down to the shop and blow the horn.

I'm like WTF, I know that horn is louder than that. So I go over to the wife v-star, same reading. So I grab the can air horn, It was out of air, so I took the top off it, and blew through it. Same reading. Not to be out done, I grabbed the air chuck. Holy F&%#, DON'T EVER DO THAT. LET ME REPEAT, " DON'T EVER DO THAT" As soon as I hit the button, it was like someone hit me in the head with a 2x4. My head spun, my knees buckled, and I hit the floor. My teeth still hurt. Oh, and the sound meter still read the same. Piece of what comes out your back side.

Haha interesting.

I haven't tried it yet but mine read 80db listening to music earlier.

Hahahahaha that's funny. I got a different looking one. My BMW stereo goes to 108db which is nuts. Forgot to check the new horn. I will tomorrow. Curious on my 2.5" straight pipes too
