Dash indicator lights

The dash indicator lights on my 02 Mastiff are so dim that they are hard to see during the day. I'd like to be able to tell if i forgot to turn my turn signal off or not without another vehicle having to tell me. Anyone know if they can be upgraded to something brighter like newer LEDs or something?

You'd have to wire in aftermarket LED's, wouldn't be straight forward..

I have a 2000 Bulldog with the same dash... I would think.. I took my dash apart and found that it was very dusty in there and that the light bank had wiggled loose a bit. So I took care of those things... and all is well. Additionally, be very careful when you unplug the connection.. it is very fragile (on both ends) can can easily be put back incorrectly. The leads to each light were also loose, so I added some stability buy using just a booger of silicon .... no issues since. (my original issue was a light was not showing... it had come unplugged from the lead..)

I agree with what Butch is saying but wanted to ad one thing. The chrome dash plate is sitting on a fiberglass center piece. That piece is very fragile and hard to find so be gentle with it. Clean you're lights and also check the ground connection not only to the light strip but also from the battery to the frame.

If you need a new light strip try bigdogpartsking they may have one. Good luck and post up some pics of you're bike.

Dash photo i cropped out to show the style of lights on it. You will have to ignore the shape she was in for this one. This crop came from one of my after crash photos I had taken of her at the tow yard when I went to pick her up. Long story but a car pulled out in front of me at an intersection at night and I t-boned them in the drivers door. Both the bike and I were a little bit of a mess but she's put back together now and we're back on the road again :whoop: The lights function properly but are just not bright enough to see easily during the day in the sunlight. Low watt and old technology is all. I'm sure they would be much brighter and more visible if they were LED. If i manage to get them upgraded somehow, I'll try to post some before and after pics during the day and night just to see the difference. For now, i'll at least try to clean them from the inside like suggested and see if helps a little.

Maybe a stupid thought, but if that light sensitive what do you call it eye is dirty and the lights are in night mode all the time?
