Wiring Harness

I am looking for a mechanic to rewire my 07 K9 if anyone knows of anybody in East Tennessee please let me know. I have trouble with this bike almost from day one , Battery will not stay charges, speedometer only working some of time . So I have a new wiring harness to rewire the bike and cannot find anyone to do it. Thank you!!

I recommend ordering one of the ehc replacement modules I believe docs is plug and play and also axels and come with a new wire harness. This would probably be cheaper than having someone else rewire it and also replaces the module which has Been known to fail.

Just my 2 cents but paying someone else to re wire is not cheap and allot of these units are pretty easy to install yourself

What harness do you have?

I understand that, but why pay 700 dollars or more to have someone rewire it?
Why not do the ehc replacement with a new harness for about the same price?
Lets see what he has, you might be right, my bad:oldbang:

I have the wp in my pit bull, at the time it was the only option. Pretty ,messy setup when installing. Not a bad setup but I think some of the other later harness are much better and are plug and play.
Completely agree Paul, the WP reminds me of the PDM which I had in mine, damn sorry mess of wiring. Mine now looks quite clean and have been 7k miles trouble free..

Rewiring will be quiet expensive, I'm not too sure if it will be worth it for you. If you could give a few more details:

Since day 1, have you always had battery issues? Such as the same battery not staying charged? Continuous low voltage?

What do you mean by "speedometer only working some of the time"? Do you mean the lights, the tach, the dial/readout for speed, or all of the above intermittently working?

Any other electrical issues?

Thanks for the reply I'm Deweys wife I will get the information when he gets home. What I've seen is about 2 years after he bought the bike battery would not stay charged the speedometer doesn't work 1/2 the time we get stranded more than we ride . The bike has not been running since we got back from Sturgis 2013 . We got stranded there to had it towed someone fixed it so we could finish the trip it will just not run . As soon as he gets home i will reply with his information he is a county boy not computer savvy. Thanks again

If you do decide to go with DOC's ESC, it comes with a new wire harness, and very simple to follow instructions. Took me about 8 hours to install, and I am an electrical moron. Also really took my time adding heat shrink to connections, and routing all wiring for cleanest install. If you do get into install and get overwhelmed, just give Jeff from DOC's a call and he will walk you through it..also have the support of many on the forum.:old2:

What exactly do you want done? Rewire of the WP system? Or a whole new system such as DOC's ESC or hard wire?

Let me clearify what I meant by my earlier comment of "Rewiring will be quiet expensive, not sure if it will be worth it", I mean it will be expensive to pay someone to have it done versus installing/rewiring it yourself. Any of the systems that you decide on are pretty easy to install. DOC ESC as well as the instruction manual are pretty easy going for the install with great customer support.
