This winter, I had both front and rear tire replaced. 80 degrees, time for a ride. Rode 8 miles and front tire is flat. Called my Daughter to bring truck to air up. Ride a few miles and flat, air up and a few miles its flat. No signs of puncture but sitting in the shop it won't go flat. Im guessing its a bead leak but what the hell????

Try the good old fashioned soap and water trick around the bead if it bubbles it's leaking

X2 also around the valve stem. Shouldn't be to hard to fine if it goes flat that soon riding.

How can i do that when it sits in the shop for 2 hours and doesn't lose a pound of air. Ride it and it goes flat within a few miles

Also may want to check your stem valve to make sure it's fully seated and tightend down

It isnt the stem. That was my first check

Check for crack in your rim.

Ok that is weird. Thought it was ok all winter then leaked when you road it. You are saying after it went flat then back in shop no leak? might want to go back to where you got it put on and ask them?

Ive rode 20 miles since i switched tires out. Never had this issue with the original tire so "cracked rim", probably not. Im guessing the harley shop didnt clean the bead of the rim and something is around there causing a leak when the wheel goes around.

I think your gonna have to have it taken off and re-mounted, they should do it for free since you haven't rode it much. I was gonna suggest breaking the bead yourself but if your having a shop do the tires then you prolly don't have the tools to do it, but if you do you could let the air out, break the bead and clean it with simple green and re-seat it and see if it holds up, the shop is probably your better option, good luck and let us know what cha find out.

Just checked it again this morning. Tire is still up. Wonder if it seated finally???? We will see....

Havent rode it yet but just checked again....38 psi. Anyone wanna wager it goes flat when I ride it??? $$$$$

I'm thinking it's going to due to tire getting warm and leak gets active from bead being set weak jmo

Let some air out and put fix a flat in, air it up and quickly ride it. You could have a small crack inbetween the threads that expands when you run it.... Worse comes to worse buy a tube...

It's your shreader valve. Change it. Also put a cap that has a rubber seal in it. The centrifugal force is drawing it in because it's spring is weak.

the spring doesn't hold the valve shut after 39 pounds of air is pushing against it , the air does.
it could be the Schrader is leaking but the spring aint the culprit

We see this all the time on our race vehicles. The centrifugal force along with the weight of that shreader, will overcome the air pressure, especially if that shrader valve is faulty. In reading closely, the key tip off to it, was his mention that it doesn't leak a bit when left over night, but only when riding. It most likely is a faulty shrader. If it was me, I would change the valve with shrader.

As mentioned he checked the shrader in a "static state" and not in a "dynamic state".

We operate between 34 to 37 psi, of which is dependent on which dragster is in competition for that given event. The centrifugal force is greater on a 21 inch rim at the same given speed (rpm) of a 16 inch rim.
