Engine Question

So, at the risk of being beatten like a red headed step child that ate the last hot dog at the family reunion, I pose these questons.

Trying to decide to keep or get rid of an engine kit. I have a Ultima 107" polished kit I purchased to build a custom chop a few years back. THings happened and I never built the bike and even sold the frame. BUt I still have the engine kit, plus a S&S Case/Crank. First question, am I correct in that the Ultima engine kit (Jugs, Heads, Pistons, cams etc. compleet kit) will work on the S&S case. I was told yes, but still like to know for sure. Second, will that set of jugs and heads bolt on to my 117" case? I ask because if so, perhaps I should keep it in the event I ever have a big failure, I have a rebuild on hand. I realize it would not have the boar and stroke of the 117, but it would be a polished big twin none the less. And lastly, does anyone need this kit, willing to part with it, just not sure whic direction to turn at this intersection. Keep it and build it for later in case, or send it along it's way to someone who needs a 107. Imput please.

Well first off...your answer is really no it won't fit any of your 117. A 107 has a 4" bore whereas the 117" is 4.125". Just ain't gonna fit..haha.

I do indeed believe the ultima jugs will work on S&S bottom. Some guys run that as a hybrid because it looks like SS but is cheaper to build using Ultima parts. They just stick the SS rockers on the top and most people are none the wiser.

You'd be surprised a lot tof the parts are interchangeable. I just stuck a ultima oil pump on my SS at about 1/2 the cost. Believe me there isn't anything special about an oil pump to justify $400 vs $200

I believe they will as long as the bore is the same. Issue is ultima doesn't have a 4.125" bore to my knowledge because they go from a 107, 113, 120 up to a 127 which is a 4.5" bore.

So you can't buy an ultima jug for the 117" because of that

Ultima 107" (4" bore) cylinders, pistons, crank, and heads will work on a S&S 4" bore case.

I appreciate it. kind of new the bore was a different size, but was not sure if the jugs would bolt on or not. But was worth a shot. Guess the sleves need to fit the holes on top of the case, and didn't think about that or at least didn't know if the outer diamiter of the sleves would be different or not, but probaly should have know that. So appreciate that. At least I can build my other if I need to and use it in a pinch but will probably just get rid of it to someone who may need it, or build it for a later project, who knows but thanks for the info.
