How are Shinko tires working out for those running them?

Time for a new rear tire on the K9 this spring. The Avon it came with was wore out at 4k replaces it with a Metzler and have about 4500 on and it won't go through state inspection this spring.
When reading old threads about Shinko tires I see some were running them just wondering if their worth a look and how they were wearing. I didn't have a problem with the Metzler rubbing the belt but the fast wear and price are making me look elsewhere. Thanks

I wore a Shinko out this last summer. I liked it, and it wore good, except coming back from BB&BBQ, I ran interstate coming home, and It wore flat in the middle. It lasted less than 5000 miles.

Was it a 300, and what pressure did you run it at?

I run a 240. 250 would have fit good, because they are narrower than Avon or Mets. I run 40 psi.

So a Shinko is narrower than a Avon? I like how Fat the Metzler is. I see the Shinko is 11.8 inches wide. Can't find the measurement of the Metzler. I sure there is little difference.

The difference is, Avon and Mets have a lip on the side of the tire to protect the rim, the Shinko doesn't.

Have someone post the side of their Avon, there is a big difference. That's why I've been running a 240, because the 250 rubs my belt. The Shinko would have had plenty of room.
