I miss having a dog, but the wife and I travel so much, we decided after the last one passed away, not to have any more.

Good looking pit bull!. I've always liked the broad males they look like Arnold walking. Haha.

Looks like he got in a little scuffle with the scabs on his right shoulder?

I've gotten both dogs from a shelter, good pups. Here in Texas there's more dogs than people it seems all state run shelters are kill shelters. I got mine from my city pound he didn't even cost me a dime. I did have to get him nutured and shots which was about $200 after the fact. My city pound just expanded and now is able to do neuters in house which is nice.

On the other hand my sister lives in Massachusetts and to adopt a dog is a few hundred bucks which has kept her from bringing another one into her home which is a shame. They have a lab now that is going to be 13 so on its last legs. I understand some think if they get an owner to pay a few hundred they will take care of them but in her case she has 4 kids and spending $300 extra in a month isn't much in their budget.

Every dog we ever got was a rescue. With all the dogs in the pound it only makes sense. I love labs but not lab puppies they tear up everything. Getting one about 2-3 years old from a shelter saves you all the hassles of a pup and by then you can tell what they are going to be like. We have 2 now but if was up to my wife we would have 10.....
