on my 06 k9 side covers my tabs have broken several times.. i know why they broke prolly were over tightened at some point.. does anyone have a good fix for it? i have tried plastic welding and also jb weld. last couple rides and breaks again.i made sure to not over tighten and that the threaded rubber fasteners were in good shape and in the right position.

any ideas ?

thanks

First thing you need to do is order the push pin set from the Kaptin, to hold the covers in place.

e-mail him, it's the fastest way to get ahold of him.
Second, use a piece of metal to reinforce it, and JB weld over the metal. Works good, I've done several, and their still together.

Reinforce with fiberglass in multiple layers. On the under side so it won't bother fitment.
:agree: That's exactly how I fixed mine and I still use the OEM fasteners, But I use an 3/8 extension on the screw and only hand tighten them. They never broke again and never came loose.
I sanded both sides so the resin would adhere and mixed the resin and applied 3 layers of fiberglass mesh on both sides, they have small kits at Pep Boys or Advance auto:old2:
