click,click,hopely not BOOM

picked up some wizards today!! and put the bike on the lift for the first time(900 miles on bike). Started to turn the rear tire to wipe the dust from rim and the sound from hub of rim is the same as spinning a bike with a chain.
Can the bearings be shot at 900 mile or dry,I felt for play and don't think I got any. Need some input due to the closest dealer is cycle world in baltimore,md.(this is a 05 chopper)

Is your belt tracking straight? Look at it from the rear and spin the wheel the same direction as if you were riding down the road. Now spin it in reverse, is the belt wandering on the rear pulley? How's your tension? Should feel tight, but the new belt will stretch allot. Next time you see a brand new bike, feel how tight they keep the belts.

just checked belt defection, about 1/4-1/2 " belt is tracking the same forward and reverse, could this be a dirty belt or pully

Do you have an open primary/dry clutch? Try putting it in gear and ask a friend to pull the clutch and spin it. When you're riding does the belt squeak at all?

before really worrying about it, take a small stick, and place it on the bone behind and below your ear and the other end on the rear axle. rotate the wheel and listen for the ticking. if not there, look elsewhere until you find it.

moe- mine does not track the same forward and back! i've been having belt chirp -problems. rear wheel alignment is perfect but rear pulley to front look off, like the trans needs to be tweaked a bit. i did hit the ditch very hard one night, hpoefully not a bent frame.

ok guys, this is what I got, I have a ultra sonic leak detector I use for my trade which lead me to the rear pully.Could it be air being push out of the lobes by the belt lobes.I did use a q-tip with denatured alcohol and it not as bad and intermitting.

Jeff The only way to isolate the noise is to remove the belt. Then recheck by turning the wheel for noise. From what you said you checked for play and checked for loose bolts. While the belt is loose check the pivot bolt too. Scrub the shit out of the belt then retry it. The belt at some point could of run out of spec and now you hear it.let us know.:flag:
