:yesnod: I was just wondering, it looks like it has orange peel and the factory paint was pretty much flawless
Oh no.. no orange peel at all.. it is however pretty dirty, this is its second paint job since I've owned her.. paint is flawless.. I wasn't a fan of the big goofed flames it had.. I'm more of a ghost flames kinda guy, but the black on chrome is just nostalgia at its finest.. clean and sharp!

No, I know what ur talkin about, it's a 3m clear cover that's on the rear fender to protect the paint from the rear suction cup and the over hang from the luggage.. like I said.. I use this bike, no trailer queen here.. lol.. I enjoy riding too much.. but I had to look twice at what u were talking bout.

So I was wrong on the wear side of my bike due to it dog legging as Ker said.. lol.. my tire wears more on the left due to it being cocked to left to adjust for the tire width.. View attachment 38125
Same with mine, but I thinks it's cause I get on it more in left turns, right turns are way too sharp to accelerate quickly out of, a left turn usually is a lot wider so I can get on it a little more through the turn. :old2:

I just think it's clean and again.. sexy!! Lol.. I have been eyeballing a few different bikes but with Fram colors u can only do so much with paint ya know.. when I got this one, it wasn't a big deal to rid of the flames and go all black.. but yes.. our black on chrome is the best looking.. JMO

Idk.. I'm pretty certain mine is from the way the tire is aligned.. so I'm definitely going with avon's for this time around.. my last tire didn't wear this bad and it was a Metzeler as well, but I did replace the belt and don't know if the factory belt was a bit narrower then the replacement.

I have a left side drive so I don't think my bike is that balanced anyway but I tried shifting my weight over on the side I am having the least amount of wear and it appears when I ride like this the tire wear shifts to center. Just sharing.

I don't know if running the rear tire out of alignment is a good idea Kel, I know my belt is really close to the tire but I would rather have it slightly rub the tire than run it out to clear it, seems like it would effect the handling of the bike.

Yeah I'm never doing it again, what led me to this was a few things, bearings wore really quick and of coarse the obvious of seeing the axle spacing difference.. so I'm going back to original.. and that damn belt was 600 bucks.. lol

That's actually a thought I wonder if weight and riding 2 up or solo have any influence on wear I weigh 175-180 and ride solo
My weekday riding is always solo, I am about 180 and my wife is about the same name but she is also 5'9" and most of the weekend riding is with her.. all my trips are with her
