tire psi

So far I haven't ran anything under 40psi. I run the Avon 240 on a soft tail. Tire looks good no problems, but there's nothing soft about a soft tail.
Friend of mine 300 Avon on a BBC didn't last one summer because of low pressure.:oldcool:
Yeah.. idk if they have even looked at specs.. they are supposed to be between 40 and 42 from the factory.. everyone I have talked to about these specific bikes will tell you the same.. it helps with longevity of the tires as well:agree:

I ran at 40 now at 38 and nice ride I will give up a little longevity for my back.
I was just trying to find out what u rode to figure out the difference of 2 pounds. I had a Texas chopper and it is what they compare to the K9 and personally there was no comparison as far as comfort after owning both. I don't know about the LSC.. but whatever works for you.. but I really wouldn't go n e lower then 38 lbs.. good luck brother

I used to ride with a guy that ran his 300 on his ridgeback around 35 it wore quicker but he didn't care it was a softer ride

Yeah, I'd never get a ridge, I dig the looks, but damnit they are a rough ride.. I can't exactly afford to be putting tires on every 7 or 8 months.. so I keep it at 40 on the K9 in the rear and 38 in the front.

38lbs on the 03 Pit...being a shop guy and seeing effects of low air pressure I won't go any lower. To each his own and ride it where you are comfortable.
Yeah.. I'm with you.. I have been with a wrench in my hand for 15 years and most of my time was a tech at a tire shop so even though I didn't do much tire work u can't help but to learn what's what and what effect low tire pressure has.. sidewalls and your crown wear about 2 to 3 times quicker.. 38 front and 40 rear for the 07 K9..:old2:
