The 2.5" or 3" is they way to go. I got a 3.5 and it was heavy on the left side made it unbalanced...It listed for 3k new in drag specialties but I got it for a bit over cost.
Was working at a Harley shop at the time.
Wow. That seems odd because putting my 3" on actually dropped 7lbs from the stock primary. Actually made my Chopper much nicer in the curves. Also made it much easier shift and start. The 2.5" or 3" is they way to go. I got a 3.5 and it was heavy on the left side made it unbalanced...
I think the extra width is what does it. It's further out than the stock primary. I know it affected my bike. I had 3" on 2 other bikes and it didn't seem to matter but then again neither of them had outer bearings. It does improve the ride and shifting.Wow. You don't have problem with those balls collecting dust from plates and sticking ? That tends to be a problem with say autoclutch which uses similar balls and ramp system. Basically the difference is autoclutch has sprigs to pull clutch open...Go to their web site! They build drives for 500hp+
