My docs one is all loosey goosey I have it on the shelf now. There's a pin that holds the front and back part together and that just wore out in 1,000 miles. So the light would bounce around going down the road.

I have faith in this new unit but I probably won't have any serious miles on it till spring. Only 50 here today

That's funny cause the first thing I noticed when I went to put it in was how loose it fit in the mounting bracket, I thought this is gonna bounce around and drive me nuts so I had better figure out how to tighten it up, well at first I thought zip ties would do the trick until I realized that it gets hot in there and I don't need any thing melting and shorting out on me at night, so my next thought was some piano wire I had laying around and it worked great, don't now how long it will hold up, but well see once it warms up a little! Hey 50 ain't bad, especially since you got all that heated clothes you should be good to go, by the way, whats up wif the cam? You ever get it finished yet????

I'm running docs also and it's not loose on mine fits nice I wonder what the dif is
You can see it 1300 miles away?

This is what I mean by loosey goosey....this pin holds the plate on and it wore out I can rotate the plate and push it in and out.

Notice how I can push up one side and you see the gap?

I did not have an issue, it was an adjure bucket like stock but no visor. I am certain it will fit in a stock bucket too.

The key is the lock pin is at 3pm on the light on my admire bucket the locking part is moveable so I moved it to 3 pm and the headlight locked right into place.

Thanks for the info pal... It looks good and for the price I think I'll give it a try myself..

It appears that if you increase the size/thickness of the rubber gasket you should, theoretically, solve the movement problem. Just an idea.

Just remember to record it when you fire it up! Ok, so do you notice also with the DOC led that it only lights the upper half of th bucket? It only has the led''s one side compaired to curtis''s that has them on 3 sides, kinda wierd, hopefully at night it will look different.

Yea I noticed it about 700-1000 miles.

Kinda bummed I bought one for each bike for both bikes that was an expensive mistake.

I can't even try to resell this one..have to give it away. Waste of $80

I'll have to double check mine
Well here's a 4th option boys and yes this was posted on the Spyder forum, so suck it up bitch's.:oldhardlaugh:
These come in pairs and the cost is $110, they have 2 set screws 180* apart so you can actually rotate the LED in the H4 mount for the best projection and it won't come loose. I have installed this in my Wolf headlight housing and it fits. The other thing is it does not have a fan or moving parts, the black thing on the back of it is an aluminum heat shink.
I got them from lamonstergarage.com

Element specifications (per element):
6063 Aircraft aluminum construction.
6000k color rendering.
4000 lumen.
360 degree light beam angle.
24 watt per bulb.
2.0amp (+/- .2) power draw. Stock halogen is 4.58amp.
H4 connector for full plug and play operation.

You obviously have no girlfriend cause you are able spend a shitload of money on your bikes don't cha? Oh, and miss "Blo up" don't count!
Haha....well that HID was a long time ago 4-5 years Jake sold them. But I had to run my purchases buy my ex before.

You should see how many headlight bulbs I have on the shelf it's insane. These things have been killing me trying different ones.

But I haven't had to do that for a few years ...good thing too that k9 cost me a bundle just to keep it on the road this year. Although I'm pretty broke these days and it's not even on the road..once it's fixed It will be awhile before I put any money in again.
