Don't know, shop put them on. Right after I bought it, took it in for the once over and all maintenance. Mechanic called me and said it ran like shit after test ride. Then he replaced plugs, wires, and intake gaskets. It's started as intermittent and is progressively worse. Now I can't even get outta my neighborhood. This shit sucks.

Could be something as simple as a bad ground wire. Saw it happen on a H D once. Or maybe some wire got worn through, and the vibrations causing it to short out intermittently. I'm going with electrical

Big dog put crappy belt drives on their bikes. Both my ridgebacks have had issues, squealing like a pig . Spray your belt first hit a ride for at least 1/2 hr . By that time belt is hot and is making a noise called the pig. One issue I had changed rear tire the person that changed it did not put the spacer back in right made it worse. Just my story of issues I've had hope it helps. First chance you get dump that belt both my bikes started having this issue at about 11 k

I'd also order a 1" belt if you have the 1 1/8" or a 1 1/8 if you have a 1 1/2"

Pressure test your tank and jack the psi way up, might help your problem a little:willynilly:

Yeah, I could pressurize the GAS tank with pure OXYGEN !! That should give it a boost! Don't spose you'd wanna come sit on it while I crank the regulator up, would ya? I'll be right behind that block wall, It'll be okay, ( I think!)

Agreed, most of our bikes are over 10 years old with some miles. Everything is exposed to weather and seen a lotta use. I shouldn't be popping off cause my bike's in the shop right now. But hell, if you want extended reliability, buy a friggen Honda.

My belt squealed like crazy. I did notice that the belt was a bit wider than the pulley so what I'm thinking is they put the wrong size pulley or belt on some bikes or got a bad order of belts/pulleys at one time and all were thrown in the same bin with good ones so over time some bikes got the correct parts and others didn't. A 1/8 inch wider belt would rub against the side of the pulley higher up and squeal.

I have 1 1/8" on mine with plenty of clearance, could be like you say, some bad batches..

had the same problem on the right side of your sled where the belt meets the trans there's a cover underneath there's an arm with a bearing it needs to be packed with grease contact the people a S&S Motors for more complete instructions, you should notice it more if your going in slow circles and using the clutch hope this helps
