That's for all the newer bikes 04 and up because they have the BD switches. You have the old H-D type which is what I have. You won't really have that many problems with your EHC, but if you wanted to go with the better enclosed one which is what I did.

Here get a Thunderheart micro harness and rewire your entire bike. The speedo has an adapter that you can get and it works with the harness. This is good for the 01-03's

Is it as simple as splicing all the wires that currently run to the EHC into the new Micro Harness?

It's not that simple, but not that hard either. Just a little time consuming.

I don't know how relevant this and I know got an 05 but my bike has been totally rewired (no more EHC) and I'm still using the original speedo. I did have to change the switches though.

I have an 107 and the head is predrilled for the CR. Are they really worth $290?

Yes. It will save wear and tare on your starter.

Not likely , really not much to the C/R .

No the hole is to small, the piece that breaks off, will rattle around and beat itself small enough to go through the hole, but my then, it will just spit it out without hurting anything

I checked for any air escaping, But I think it's just the button that came off. No leaks and, seems to work automatically still. I'll post some pics when I figure this out.
