Lone Star Rally- Galveston Tx

Any of you gents headed down to Galveston this weekend for the Lone Star rally? I live 30-40min away so will be heading down on Friday evening after work and will be staying there Fri and Sat night. They’re expecting 500k people- should be a good time.

As dumb as it sounds I’m still contemplating whether or not I take the Pit. Half a million people with enough booze being served to sink the Titanic and traffic jams that make you want to slit your wrists don’t exactly give me a warm fuzzy. I enjoy my weekend drinks as much as anyone and don’t believe in getting gassed and then jumping on the scoot- which means I’d have to actually be responsible and get it back to the hotel before I start acting like a 20 somethin on spring break. Takin the Jeep down and then Uber from the hotel just seems like a lot less stress. Hmmmmmmmm.

Anyone know if BigDog will be there anywhere?

Taking the Jeep doesn't sound fun. Although I'm not a big rally person either I've heard the Galveston one is fairly well organized.

K9 is down and out so my play funds are pretty much $0.00 at the moment and the rigid would be a hard ride down 45. I'd need a saddle.

Com'on now.. ride the rigid.. 4 hrs trip.. u got this.. I have been here in the Houston area for almost 6 years now and never went.. having some fellow bdm brothers to roll with sounds great!.. either way I'm heading out to it for at least a few hours to see what it's all about.. it's the third largest one in the nation annually and this year it's expected to be either first or second..

I've attempted to ride 35 down to Austin on the rigid once every other time I had taken back roads. I got off and took back rodes before I got out of Dallas city limits that highway is rough.

I usually only ride back roads, I'll make it down there some day. I'm short on funds on anyways can't be out pissing away my weekends unfortunately.
