K9 troubles :)

Energy One
As some of you may remember I got this 07 K9 from my brother that passed away earlier this year. Got some trouble with signal lights, horn, and headlights at times. Took the controls apart and everything looks fine. Sometimes everything works as it should. Well this morning I was riding to my sons house. All the sudden both signal lights light up and the horn blows?? Dies on me right then and there. To get it to start again I unhook the ground cable from the battery and attached it back. I'll try to attach a link to show what it was doing.
Maybe someone will have some advice or at least a place for me to start. Thanks in advance!!!

that's a bunch of leads on the positive side of the battery. Can't you join some of them together on a single terminal. Sounds like you are losing power. Check all those wires and make sure they are really clean and snug them up.

I disconnected my horn. But Big Dog set it up that when the battery loses its charge the horn will blow and turn signals will flash. My problem was it did it when my battery was fine.

Thanx for all the advice. I unhooked the LEDs, and battery tender ( don't have the plug in part anyway) and tightened everything up. Will look for the ground tomorrow to make sure it has a good surface to attach to. Still got issues with turn signals and brake lights. Still love it though.

Cleaned the battery up by unhooking what I could. Checked the ground and it's good. Still happens though. Last night coming home from work. Riding about 30mph. About 10 minutes from work. It just dies, horn blows constant, and bot signal lights light up. Again I unhooked the battery and hiked it back up to get it home. Don't like riding something I don't trust. Anymore ideas guys?

AS LONG AS ALL YOUR CONNECTIONS are good, not grounding out under the tank etc....and your battery is good....

Check your wiring inside your hand controls/PCBs, sounds like you are grounding out the on/off switch to the horn and your lights (grounding out will tell the EHC that your battery is dying)....that's why it could be shutting down and flashing your turn signals....could possibly be corrosion on your PCB boards as well causing it to 'short/ground' out....just my .02

How do I test it?
Slick117 has a testing unit. I believe WSW also does but Curtis is experiencing life @ the moment. He still may be able to help. Ifn It was me, I would find a known "Good" battery and see if that helps. I do agree that you prolly gots a loose connection somewherez?.....

I'd have to agree.. sounds like either them connections under the tank have gotten crushed ( deutsch connectors) or you have something ground our or bad bdm control boards for them hand controls on ur left controls..

Replace the EHC and Harness update!

It sounds like the main controller is defective as this is the standard symptoms we see when they go bad. This is not an official diagnosis of course, but it sounds suspicious... If you have a service manual for the bike, you can trouble shot the electrical system to confirm... We sell the upgraded electrical controller kit for $675 if you need one. It is a lot better system than the original unit tat came on it originally

Got that email from BigDog tech. Sounds like I may be out some money before I can ride it. Anyone know of a cheaper place to get one?
