Extra long forward controls trade for shorter?!?

Recently got 03 mastiff, that either the owner was tall or he was building the bike long because of the open primary. Long story short or short story long, I'm 5'11-6' and can't reach them well at all.

Look at pics to see how far they are out in front of the down tubes.....my 03 chopper is basically in line with the downtubes. These appear a good 3+" out.

If a swap is simple, I'd love to trade.

If I need to leave them on due to the open primary, please tell me that..
In stretching for them, I don't feel I'm anywhere close to the belt, and really
don't know if it matters.

If' a complicated, cable swapping, master cylinder swapping, etc., etc.,, I'll probably keep as is.
The stretch is pretty awkward but liveable with for short rides(and I do mean short)

might not suit your taste, but, you might consider the option of having a "push" seat done to move you a little farther forward without changing the controls. something to consider in your decision would be the comfort of the handlebars, whether they would feel crowded if you were farther forward. good luck.

With the outer cover on that belt, I doubt you'll get your pant leg in it. Haven't had any problem with mine, but then again, I have tall boots, and usually tuck my pant legs in my boots.

new term, I assume a push seat is something a custom seat builder does, do you have favorites or is this something I approach corbin, etc,with. The handlebars and other ergos are great

Push seat is new term to me, I assume it's a custom build that moves you forward(duh), who makes them, do I just approach a custom upholstery shop, etc, or seat builders like Corbin, etc. Thanks for the input

a push seat is one that is built up in the back with more of a bolster to literally push you farther forward. they can be purchased from "bigdogpartsking" (member here and seller name on ebay), and we also have member "seatmaker" who creates some masterpieces to suit your budget and style. he can take the seat you have and turn it into the seat you want, with material from alligator to zebra and install gel pads for those long rides.

The swap out is EZ. I had those same extendeds on my 03 Chopper. Left side is just the bracket and the shift rod change out. Right side is bracket, longer wire, and longer chrome end on the brake line that hooks to the master. The master cylinder itself swaps right over, as does the pegs.
