Why would you do that? Haha

It's all those hoops you gotta jump through that warrants a higher price....although 27K is bannanas

Sure it's a bit of a pain importing BD's to Canada, but the expense is not much. Both my mastiff and slammer cost me about $1200 each, total for the importation process. To import them as parts, it's only $195 if planning on registering it as "home built".

Supply and demand, there are very few BD's and AIH in Canada, I'm sure most potential buyers look state-side to purchase but then find out it is not admissible into Canada according to the registrar of imported vehicles, at this point I'm sure they simply give up on importing and search within the country to buy. If you know the correct channels to import it can be done, long process, took about 2 months for all the paperwork to be approved. RIV admissible motorcycles link.

TRUE COLORS COLLISION
I'm not worried about the depreciation, and the only investment I was making was on my sanity. By riding I stay sane!!!!
I just never paid any attention whatsoever and then all of a sudden I see some bikes on the interweb for $7500. I just thought obviously people out there just don't think like I do cause my Chop will become a barnfind for someone that looks in my garage that is handed down to
my Grandaughters children 50 years from now...........

Mine won't be a barn find, it will be a grave find and they will need to pry my bones off it to take it..

As others have said, its supply and demand, and bikes are for sale everywhere now. Its not just our bikes. Harleys are not worth what guys are asking for either. They just don't get it. I look at what it cost new. used is 1/2 that minus any mileage, and damage. No one is going to give you $8500 for your 1988 Soft tail. I don't care how much you put into it, or how much you insist that Harleys hold there value.

In reality, a 10 year old Harley is worth $4500 - $6000 tops. I'd say Big Dogs are worth a little more. $8500 to $12000. Depending on age, and model. People know that most Big Dogs will have to be re-wired, and that is gonna cost you $800 by the time your done, unless you do it yourself. I wouldn't even consider buying an Iron Horse or a Bourget for the same reason that its gonna have wiring issues. You can buy one of those off my local Craigs list for $6999 to $9000 all day long.

I just recently sold my 07 K9 and I had to sacrifice it for $8800.00. I had it at $10K for months with NO interest and I mean NO interest. Finally a guy from Texas (I'm in TN) texted me and I let it go. They are depreciating fast!

And new ones are bumping 35 grand. I personally think the prices are all over the board. If you have to sell, it's probably gonna hurt more. You can't build a K9 for any where near the 8500 mark. A custom paint job alone is between 3 and 5 grand. Wheel sets pushing 4 grand(chrome) motor7 grand. see where this is going. And I ain't trying to be a dick, it's just the facts.

The comment about the Harley's is not true depending where you live. Also, a lot of Harley models resale price does go up sometimes as they get older. I have a friend in New York that sold his 48 Pan for $60000. Always depends on the area, what you have and who REALLY wants it. JMO

Yep I'm gonna have to keep mine till I'm dead. I got a little over $2K just in parts alone this year between electrical and transmission. Doesn't include all my labor doing the work .

Good news is I should be ready to roll for a while and I'm gonna take this bitch on a long haul soon.

Yep, 5+4+7+2+1=19 :yesnod::old2: I threw in 2 for tranny and 1 for a frame. But I still wouldn't let mine go for less than 32,500 :whoop::panic::moped:
