Antigravity side post I Had .. Also wire plus .. I'm thinking getting rid of wire plus. Right now all wires got hot under seat and it smells burnt i just don't see taking a chance . Bike looked like a smoke bomb I had to rip smoking battery from bike . Everything was tight and working nice . Wish I knew what caused it.

I have had the wires plus kit for many years....and love it. If you put it in and want to go to a RIP kit, go for it. But if you didn't put the WP in yourself, you'll have to rewire everything under the seat again....since putting a WP in meant cutting all the wires......

After cleaning the mess and getting wires straight it looks like the battery melted only. The wires just got warm and smell, even a brown color. ...when I ripped battery out of bike the blocks were melting battery and stayed connected to wires... I wonder if I should of went with a reg battery .. Stator and vr are upgraded kit and new even have monitor. I will check vr clean wires and look into the RIP kit. I know I'll go old school all the way one day .. This is Love Hate at its best

Another anti-gravity, heard several having issues with that battery...
Are they on this forum because I ran a search and don't see any posts other than Ron's

I've run an Anti-Gravity for 20,000 miles with no issues.
I did have two customers, out of about 50 so far, that had the battery make a small hole in the negative post side of the case.
No one could really tell me why it happened. AntiGravity replaced the batteries and I haven't heard back from the customers.

Ron, Being that your battery shorted out you should consider doing what I did due to a similar issue. The seat pan is metal and the cover under the seat is very thin. May not seem like that could have been the issue but then again it only take one big bump on the road and your battery is going to go up in smoke if the neg and Pos post touch the seat pan.

I went to Home Depot and got me a Tool box rubber matt. Then I took to cover off on the back of the seat and covered the Seat pan (Battery Area only) with the rubber matt. It is self adhesive so I put two layers. Then I sprayed the seat pan with 3-M multi purpose glue and put the cover back on. I feel better now and hope I never short out another battery. At least I'll know is wasn't caused by the seat pan hitting on the battery terminals. :old2:

BTW I have been running Wire Plus for about 7 or 8 years with no issues so far.

I think I seen only one, maybe two on here Curtis? Two others here locally and their complaint was cracked terminals and the customer service when trying to get them replaced. I myself, don't have experience with this brand...

Good luck Ron. I do like Carlos' idea (Little-Boo) about the seat pan. I did something very similar to ensure the posts would not make metal to metal contact through to the seat pan on my bike. Either way, doing so adds another layer of protection.
