I have to say this, these are citizen's, Police, Firemen & National Guard! This is the same town 3 weeks ago that was in a racial feud. Where is BLM when they could help save these people!

Glad your house stayed dry. Been watching some on TV, just hope no more rain comes your way. How big of an area does this cover? Sq. Miles? Prayers are with all. Hope thing get back to normal soon.

:eek: Glad your ok. A lot of my friends weren't so lucky. We considered moving to your area once or even Prairieville but I don't think so now. It's retarded the way we classify hurricanes, rain, etc. For instance, if this was the 500 year rain, it makes people feel comfortable until the next rain which could be the 100 year, 200 year, 499 year, etc. So, it doesn't mean much. It rained and people flooded. There used to be more flooding in our parish until a flood wall was build along Lake Pontchartrain. Now, the water gets to go to LaPlace until they build a flood wall and it moves North along I-55 and floods Manchac, etc. Clearly, we protect an area only to cause another area to flood that never flooded before. We are brilliant!

That is insane, God Help those that have to start all over again. You are luck hope that stuff clears up quick so everyone can get back on their feet. WOW.

Shout to Oscar Maldonado. Serious flooding in his area as well last few days. He may have lost means to communicate.

Wow...just terrible what's going on. Hopefully you recover from this. I just don't believe in the statistics put out, a 500 years storm can be duplicated in another few months. If it happened once, the odds are is that it can happen again, unfortunately.

Hey Gang, got a message from Oscar yesterday and reported that he was dry. Rising water got a few homes in the neighborhood but his home, family and Big Dog are safe. Claims he has been busy with work.
