You got to be kidding me. That looks like something somebody on one of those tv shows butchered up and passed off as something resembling a motorcycle. Good luck to them but I think they shot themselves in the paw on that one.

I think the younger generation will like this. As I told Matt I'm looking for a Bagger. With a Tat on my arm saying Big Dog Choppers that's what I want. If matt cant build it I may have to find my own parts to build my own because I want bags big enough to hold a case of beer on each side ha

Not your style Frank obviously nor mine but if it appeals to some folks and these will sell and it allows them to stay in business that's all that matters.

I understand all that and I did wish them luck. Let's take one of those new what ever they are called and a Chopper,K9,mastiff or even my beater to a bike night and let's see which bike gets the attention. Like I said good luck to them.

Not my style either but I get it. Open up any magazine and you see baggers and these stripped down dyna looking bikes made for handling and speed with the rider dragging the rear fender as he/she is riding a wheelie completely vertical. It's what the younger crowd is into, and it's what will sell, so can't blame them for trying it out. I agree though, they will be making a mistake if they don't also come out with a bagger, cause people are dropping huge amounts of cash for custom baggers. Good luck to Big Dog, I hope they make it again and as long as they keep making stuff like the K9 and Mastiff, all will be well!

It is a big difference in what we have always seen but I believe this will attract new business. I'll share this with our BDB community,

Here is a perfect example:

There is an engineer at my company whom is pretty new. He graduated college last year so obviously young. He is currently a student in one of my classes. He has seen my 05 Ridgeback and my buddy's Pitbull and he is not a fan... I sent him a couple of pictures of the new Boxer... His text literally says "That bike is badass! What is that?" The icing on the cake for him was learning of the 124ci S&S engine on that style bike.

The point is I believe it's a step in the right direction for Matt and the team to attract new business and a younger generation. Whatever keeps them going and the doors open and producing our beloved Big Dog Motorcycles. IMO, the 2016 K9 is next to flawless, and the Boxer, as I've said, not my style but a very nice bike. The Mastiff is pretty cool as well. Gotta do a bagger now.

Great job to Matt and the team!

Geez, you guys are a tough group to please!!!

I applaud them for branching out. They need to continue to produce newer and updated bikes to have an edge in a constantly changing market. Business is business and whether you are a fan or not...they need to produce bikes they can sell. The more they sell, the better chance they can offer us support to keep our dogs in shape. Hell, like I say all the time...if we all liked the same woman, she'ld be tired and sore!

Congratulations Matt, Ed, and anyone else invovled for another successful roll out!
Finally, something said that is positive! Thank you!

Those bikes kinda bring to my mind, the A-10 Warthog. Everybody said they were ugly as sin, but once they started flying them, they absolutely loved them! "Beauty" IS in the eye of the beholder! Other than the lack of a rear fender to carry that fabulous paint job on back, and a little bit fatter rear tire, I'm starting to really like it. :old2::old2:

So the K9 is still in production. The Mastiff is available. A bagger could be in the works (I will not confirm or deny that). The key models, the heart of our business is still being produced. We mix it up and add a new model that is geared for a younger customer base and you would think by reading this thread we cancelled all other models and are going to produce the Boxer only.....

It's obvious to most of us I hope, it's a smart business move to cross styles it's the only way to survive. Hell, Harley now has a zillion models of some kind of sportster all trying to compete.

Keep up the good work gentlemen!

I did not get that impression at all. What we have here is a bunch of old school bikers who are set in their ways and like the old school style. Don't take it too serious. If you guys have a business plan and it includes another style of bikes go for it. We all wish you the best. Good luck!

I'd like to think that everyone here is very happy that BDM is up and running and producing the bikes we love and adding styles.

Some bikes do not suit some people... Those same bikes suit others heavily. EVERYONE should remember that not all bikes will suit them... And some old schoolers must remember that the bills have to be paid to continue on as a company.

You guys (BDM) are doing a great job in mixing it up and bringing in the younger generation base. That's a good business decision. Keep up the great work and good luck!

IF you start a Bagger PLEASE let me know. Like I said at Sturgis, what other bike would I ride besides Big Dog with a Big Dog Choppers tat on my arm. I will save my nickels and dimes to buy it in the Spring Time (Unless it has skis for South Dakota winters (Kiddin)) Remember the Bags have to hold a case of beer on each side so it wont be a party till the Big Dog shows up haha
