I finally turned 5k miles on my 05 Pitbull and here's a summary:
Beside the recalls......I had taken the bike in for all required service. Dropping it off tomorrow for 5k service
Scratch on tank paint caused by low throttle cable cover, tank repainted by BD and cable bent/moved and replaced rubber on trees
oil leak - fixed no more issues
New exhaust and air cleaner added, removed restrictors
3 batteries later and learned that VR was bad and that the Battery tender needs to be plugged in whenever not in use - duh -
Running rich/lean - e carb changed to g carb
Flat rear tire (hollow spike in tire) at 2am, luckily in front of 24 hour gas station - expensive flat
The flat caused the rear wire harness to get chewed up and had to be replaced - BD covered
Changed out grips and pegs and added sissy bar and luggage rack and had to purchase 2 up seat after the p-pad would stick to matte paint
added new mirrors
Bad speedo - replaced - no right turn signal indicator...I can live with this
Now thats not bad considering most was covered under warranty/SB's/Recalls
Now I'm going on the record by saying that my BD has been the best and most reliable bikes I have ever owned! I wouldn't replace it anytime soon!
