Have no idea why I have such a hard time with that THING snapped a bolt again and easy outs are not working
soooo, who has another one I can buy? 300 mm tire and NO tapered ends.
Grade 8 bolts, I thinks the neck on the bolt MUST be solid no threads. Ya know how a bolt can be threaded all the way to the head? ( Not working ) .
ARP bolts someone recommended, rant rant @#$% very frustrating.
Had a great ride the other day though, love it HATE it. Love it , hate it!!!! I'm in a fucked up relationship:willynilly::willynilly::willynilly: with this bike:D
I'm going for a drink.

try these. They are the ONLY extracotrs I have ever had REPEATED success with -- even with things on the DOG.

Sears and ACE usually have them. The key is go SLOW -- very slow and they work, you go to fast and they're useless -- so go slow with them.

And is you do replace the sissy bar let me know, I sort of looking for one and Id be willing to drill it out if the price were right.

I had the tapered ends on mine and I cut .700 off the length, that was the length of the taper, I got grade 8 bolts. The threaded holes on mine were deep enough that I DID NOT have to tap deeper and I still had plenty of threads left in the hole:old2:
It did lower the luggage rack but I can still stick my finger between the fender and the bottom of the rack

Ker, when you cut off the tapered ends what happens when you bolt it into your tapered struts? Are you saying that you just tighten it up until it hits the taper in your struts? How does that work? I am confused as usual, :oldconfused: I would think you'd have to drill the taper out of your struts also, right? :oldconfused: I don't know, I need another cup of coffee, I am still half asleep! Haha! :oldlaugh:

for bolts you might try:

Unlike Fastenal you can buy jkust what you need normally rather than an entire box.
Also let me know what you want for one of other bad sissy bars.

Curious why you didn't just use collets?
