Post a few pics of the wiring and somebody will know what you are dealing with.....maybe something simple?

Never seen that black box. Where the wires go? Where's it mount anyways. Is it some LED lights bullshit?

That's an 03 not an 04 too just an FYI

I'm with Eric. Maybe shorted out leds? Unsolder the wire you fixed and see if she fires.....

If it was runing before you soldered that wire check it again, both ends. Make sure you don't have a cold solder and that you have a good connections.

ok, build date is 05/03, he said was a 04.he bought it new
not a big deal I just wanted you to know because there is a BIG difference in electrical issues between an 03 vs 04 and electrical schematics. As well as some easier troubleshooting

You got Harley Switches and a pretty basic control unit. With an 03 you have lots more options.

Let us know where those wires go. They seem kinda large awg for LEDs but I'm not sure what else it would be.

Maybe an old security system they lost the fob for, so they just unhooked it?

One other thing, why are the brakes fixed and not floating? Rear caliper has a bunch of washers stacked. He says always has trouble with rear brake so after looking at it I'm making it a floating hanger.

Floating is a sport bike thing. Fixed on real bikes Big Dogs and Harley's..I had to!

I'm really not sure you have room, you'd have to scrap the stock bracket then you'll have spacer issues on your rear tire.

Shim the caliper appropriately, less work.
