i had just got my bike all repainted and looking nice and only had it on the road for 4 days and some nice local gang member stole it and made a mess of it, he ripped up the dash panel pulled half of the pdm wiring out broke the ignition barrel in his attempt to hot wire it, but he got it going and i heard it start and ran down 4 flights of stairs and almost caught the prick but he got away rode the bike trough a few gardens but got away. but i could still hear the bike going around streets nearby and in the mean time in on the phone to the guys in blue and there on the lookout for it, then i hear it trying to start and stopping quite a bit then it goes quiet so i tell the cops where i think i last heard it and they catch the guy. only to find that he had a cut down .22 rifle and 34 rounds on him i am so glad that i didn't catch him now.

so all my paintwork has been repainted i ordered a new rip kit from Curtis plus other parts and it all arrived this week. So i tried it as stated in the paperwork and all was well, but on pulling the loom through the backbone of the bike the left hand handle bar connector got pulled off and i have no idea of what order the wires go back into the plug, and the wiring colors are different on the two looms does any one have a wiring diagram for the rip kit as i did not get one, or can someone send me a picture of the connector for the left hand side please, my bike is a 2005 mastiff many thanks and regards to all, my email is datmouse@xtra.co.nz

I would say the yellow goes with yellow, green on green and so on. The opposite connect should be the same color wires. Unless they are different color I would say wait for someone who has an RIP kit to chime in.

White/violet = left turn signal(violet on control)
Yellow with Black stripe = horn(grey on control)
Orange with White stripe is power and goes to the black wire on control
Looks like they used a green wire for High beam( white wire on control)
Yellow low beam to yellow on controls.

Also, from the picture...it looks like there is bare wire where it is crimped? Either it was not crimped correctly or you pulled the pin off the insulation. Your gonna want to fix those before or it will be shorting out and having you chase your tail

No problem but make sure you fix those ends that have the bare wire. The pin is supposed to be crimped on the insulation of wire. There's pictures in the manual I sent that shows how a proper crimp should look.

What paperwork. My RIP Kit GEN II came with no paperwork at all. I've been weaiting for a warm day to install it. Can you scan/take a pic of this paperwork for me? Would like to see it before I start although Curtis says everything should be obvious and a breeze to install.

Email me and I will forward you a copy of the docs that I have if it helps you out

The only reason dmouse is having an issue is because he pulled the connector off.
Don't try to compare it with others or fart around in any way d.
I will get you the info you need to put it back together correctly.

Mike you have a Gen 2 so your not going to be pulling anything into the backbone where you may have a situation like this.
Your kit is plug and play. Just match the connector labels up to your BD secondary harnesses, put a dab of di-electric grease in the connectors and plug them together.

... just got off the phone with them. As it turns out they forgot to send me the "supplemental" wiring harness for my ignition / coil. I'm actually relieved I wasn't just figuring it out right, and that there was something missing as suspected.

I would think $650 plus shipping would have been enough, but I guess not huh/

Maybe its extra cost for the wiring diagram and instructions:rolleyes::oldlaugh:

I have a 2004 Pitbull and I just bought rip kit no instructions. And the old plugs have lost there IDs. The new kit has compressor 1-2 plugs old wiring has no plugs there tech guy says I don't need to hook them up? + I have a split tank and it has a annunciator gauge he says I can just splice into the wiring back by the battery that don't seem right either. This is not what I call plug and play.

I'm curious about the supplemental wiring harness for the ignition/coil. I'm only putting about 8 volts to the starter on my new K-9. It's not enough to turn the starter. When I bypass (hot wire) the switch the bike fires right up? Is that what you were getting?
