EHC TESTING FOR FREE

I have met, and made some really good friends since I have been a member of this forum. As well, I have always thought that good people should stick together and help each other out. Last week, I bought a new Big Dog EHC Tester from Donna and Derrick. That said, I want everyone on here to know that I will be willing to test anyone's EHC that they are having issues with, or just want to have it checked, for free.
Just pack that puppy up, and send it to me with return shipping, and I'll test it and send it right back to you.
I am on my third Big Dog and wouldn't have anything else. I know a lot of you feel the same way, but I know the electrical issues we have can sometimes get pretty frustrating. If I can do something to help everybody out, that's all that matters to me. Just sayin.$_3-7.jpg $_3-8.jpg

New toy! Cool! That is nice of you!

We learned from Axle that the 'Low Fuel' Test on that kit doesn't work...lol Just a heads up!

Thanks for hooking me up with the fork bag too!

Very Cool Man. I sure you will be kept busy being that everyone points at the EHC for anything that goes wrong. Except flat tires or Running out of gas. :oldlaugh: :oldlaugh: Good luck and thanks for helping out. :old2: :old2:

Yeah....
Already thought about that. I'll label each one when I get it.
Good job Slick, kudos to you Buddy, Paying it forward:old2:

As far as mixing them up, if the person sending it in puts a piece of painters tape on it and writes their name on it you shouldn't have a problem.
But there are those guys like the Old Fart that suggested this, will forget their name from time to time and it could cause delays:oldlaugh:

Hi James,

This is great and helps to reduce confusions :)

By the way, you might wonder if you ever test an EFI EHC from me (...I hope not ;-) ). The tester will supply + 12 Volt from A1 to one output back in the EHC what result that you can not switch it off complete with the switch and the microcontroller will work with a reduced glow of the led´s when switched off. Don´t worry about the EHC if you have this situation. This is normal as the tester was made for the BD EHC and not for my stuff. The EHC will work in a real bike if the functions are ok in the "on" position.

By the way, does anybody have a glue where I can get the 2009 d-sub connectors what were implemented in the newer EHC models? I have not found it yet. Thanks a lot!

All the best!

Hm, I found out that I need to make my own tester with real loads at the outputs. I already got 2 EHC returns within the last month what worked perfect in connection with the BD tester but failed in a bike under load when switching on the load. One return was a 04 EHC what I got back yesterday. The original tester is nice for used EHC but it´s not very useful for manufacturing and for a final test with load.

So, I know what to do this weekend...

All the best!

Hm, could you check the 12 Volt to the speedo? it´s the same output what is used for the tag light as well. Is the tag light working? There should be 12 Volt at pin 29, 32 and 50 or alternatively at the red cables to the speedo and speedo sensor

All the best!

Easier does the speedometer light up? If you got power but no speed could have burned out sensor.

Also check power to the speed sensor itself.
