Everything production has its limits.
Its up to the owner to work around those limits....LOL
The real mjor drawback of the DSSC system is the main shaft input bearing.
Its way undersized. If it was larger then the hp rating would go up.

That is strange because I have yet to put one in a customer's ride that it didn't make a difference immediately.
I'm not saying it was a big difference but smoother starting, smoother powerband etc.
The real difference is noticed when you 've done all the upgrades and then had it Dynoed by a professional.

Here we go again,:oldlaugh: difference how? feeling power, no way. What setting did you put it on? I tried 1-4 and felt no difference.

Smoother starting? on what setting? Maybe I have a different 117 than the rest.:oldlaugh::whoop:

LOL.....remember I am not trying to convince you of anything...I'm juz sayin.
3 is the highest anyone should go, unless they have had some major work done and a professional is adjusting it.
Its not any different than the VFI modules.
If you do upgrades to the EFI, and I don't mean an air cleaner and pipes, you will most likely have to change to the unlocked VFI because it cannot exceed the locked tables.
The carb ignition module has certain timing tables and they are locked from any type of adjustment just like the VFI.

Start easily, you mean fires right up? and shitty would be to crank over for awhile and not start? just trying to clarify, cause mines fires right up as long as I have 12.8v, but hesitates at 12.6v which I still think has something to do with the solenoid spring:oldlaugh:

I do believe I said the seat of pants difference you won't feel, dynoed you might see a change only on the graph paper, but how much do you think Programable Ignition adds to the motor HP wise? It can't be more than 2-5 HP if that, and you are not gonna feel that difference on 100HP + motor:nonod: especially after adding a 585, dual runner and rejetting. Maybe you might see a little if your running times on the track regularly.

I guess it all just depends on how "Sensitive" your ass is.....:eek:

FWIW, I might install a 585 cam one day. But, if I can't feel the difference, it's not worth it to me. My Dog is awesome just like it is. If I want performance, I get on my Daytona 675. Also, there is no reason to challenge the other components. Probably one of the biggest reasons I don't upgrade the motor is shifting. Making a gear shift on the Dog is very slow and deliberate to me and makes all the difference in the world. My other bikes shift smooth and quick. This makes me just want to lay back and cruise while enjoying the ride of my Dog.

You'll definitely feel and hear the difference with the 585.

But if you get the TH programable ignition, put that in first and go ride it and change the settings, I doubt if you will feel anything, and the cam is even cheaper than the TH. I don't ride in the 4500-6000RPM range.

Now that's funny!!!

I felt no difference, nor did the bike start easier when I installed mine (TH5012 I believe)... However, I'm hoping to have enough coin one day to have a pro actually "program" it, and I'm hoping that will eliminate my pre-ignition when I crank the throttle in a gear above 2nd...

I really don't spend much time above 3000 rpm on the Dog since the fun really starts at 10,000 rpm on a Daytona 675 with no vibrations. Its like holding onto a dremel tool.:)
