Oil tappet

Quick question, i went to clean my tappet screen and was wondering if it was sitting in there upside down. Does the opening face up towards the nut or down? Rookie question=) thanx in advance for the help friends.

I did mine a month ago. Always stay ahead of the curve.

I just do mine as a matter of course every oil change..... it is part of the oil change routine.
