unless the exhaust pipe is in the wayNo other way to do it.
Although I will admit I don't tighten the cable until last.
It's easy. Loosen Jam nut, turn Allen clockwise till you hit resistance back off 1/4 turn tighten jam nut. Then adjust cable slack.
Easy 10 minute process

I suppose that's possible.unless the exhaust pipe is in the way
I am sorry I should have been more clear with my question, what I am asking is if any one has adjusted like the way this manual says it seems like step 7 and step 8 are backwards from the other manuals,No other way to do it.

Yea never done it that way. I see the question now. I just checked the 08 manual and it's in the sequence I do it, adjust cable slack last. Seems like 09 added an extra step, not sure why you would want to tighten and loosen the jam nut twice more opportunity to fuck it up.I am sorry I should have been more clear with my question, what I am asking is if any one has adjusted like the way this manual says it seems like step 7 and step 8 are backwards from the other manuals,
Thank you
Joe

and that 1/4 turn can vary from bike to bike. may only be 1/8 turn. just play with it and get to know what your bike likes.
mine likes 1/16 turn, I'm running the 12 disc clutch with the easy balls

Update. I was doing some work to my 05 Bulldog's clutch and used this method of adjusting the clutch it is the 12 disc with old style ramps, and it worked perfectly. I was concerned it might only work on the easy pull setup but as far as I can tell my clutch is adjusted right on the money!Has anybody tried adjusting clutch like this found it in the 09-10 Manual.
