You should be good if the mcclouds hooked you up with the tranny plate mod. Need an EVO an a RSD tranny lots of options available.Dammit. Ok. I need a motor and tranny so I can be sure everything bolts up. It's a factory frame with the tranny plate mod. Everything SHOULD be good to go right ? All holes are drilled and threaded.

I think someone on here has a 124 ultima in their bike with like 60K so they do work. The welds on the plate look as good as factory. It's funny, I've always heard of Ultima being a cheap motor. But I have a buddy that has a 127ci and run the dog sit out of it. Always has and hasn't had a single problem. But if spending the dough I want an S&S. I would like to find a used motor and have it gone through and built. I'm a 140hp kind of guy !!!

Funny you say that I prefer my 107 over the 117 for the same reason. I don't even want to touch my 107 and put in a cam or swap ignition for fear of messing it up. It's whisper quiet and smooth from idle to redline. Most ppl will say go big or go home. But I liked my 96Ci S&S over the 111 in my old AIH. That 96's power was smooth and sounded better with my pipes. The 111 sounded like a tractor. I'd also do a Springer while you have the chance. imo
Holes in it? Mine doesn't have holes. At any rate you can plug them. One dilemma I'm having is the tank I received is set up for fuel injection. I have the aluminum plate with the 2 holes in it the bolts to underside of tank. Can I have that exact piece made but without the 2 holes and just bolt it on and be fine ? I would rather it be carbureted

Yes.Does a rear wheel need to be taken apart for chroming? There is a facility near me that can do high gloss powder coat and also offers a nickel/chrome plating. No chroming alone.

Fair enough, I appreciate that. Know your limits, but push them. As you said, lot of knowledge on here.Thanks. I'm not a master mechanic but certified shade tree. I pulled out and installed engine on my last bike that went to Hillside. Also put the bandit in. Not sure how I would ever "become ready" anyways. I have a manual, this forum, and plenty of beverage. If things get over my head it will go to Gateway Cycles which is close by. The only thing that worries me is wiring. Which I plan on having them do anyways.
