Battery suggestions?

Sometimes ur compression releases stick. Also. My starter motor came loose from the starter houseing and caused the same problem once.

just checked out the wpx20l for only 99 bucks..i'm trying it

WPX20L-LS (500 CCA) old one was 270cca, most others are only 310cca

Pull the green wire off the starter and turn the key on and try to start it, you should hear and be able to feel them engaging

Put your finger over the rubber boot, depress enough to feel the compression release, start bike and feel it work. Move to the second one and repeat.

compression releases appear to be working properly. went ahead and order one of the lightning start 500CCA batteries off amazon mentioned above. ill let ya guys know what i think. Thanks a bunch

Are you sure about purchasing a Lightning Start? Did you research our forums? Look at the following:

I just don't want you to end up frustrated with your choice.

Of course it doesn't hurt to try out different batteries. You never know when you'll get a winner.

well i finally got my $99.00 Amazon special Lightning Start 550cca battery installed today. The bike cranked over pretty good and fired right up dead cold, so thats a plus. now we will see how long it last. ill keep everyone updated. The picture is the voltage out of the box.

Voltage looks good but remember it's the cold cranking amps that matters. I've ordered batteries off the web 3 times before (gluten for punishment), and they also had great voltage out of the box. But didn't have enough ass to turn the Dog over. JMO

It has been a month and a half since i have received and installed the lightning start Amazon special. The bike has not failed to start yet. Engine turns over with ease. The bike has not been ridden in several weeks now due to weather. and without a battery tender maintaining it the bike had no issues cranking and fired right up this morning.
