Problem with Plugs.

I am having a problem. I burn through spark plugs like a baby burns through diapers. Every week or 2 I am fouling plugs. buy a new set, and another week or so and they are fouled. Bike runs great, but when the plugs start getting black bike runs like shit and backfires. What can I do to fix this problem? Carb adjustment?

black means too rich of mixture.
Sven will be along to tell you about float, idle jet, intermediate jet, main jet,
mixture screw, air cleaner, heat range of plugs and other causes.
Also maybe even tell you about the enrichener valve...
Your job is to read and understand what he says..

Also check for intake leaks. Could explain the backfire

Don't forget to check the ignition system I went through the same thing. plug's every week hard to start the old Thunderheart just didn't cut it. MSD ignition in same plugs two years. just a thought but it worked for me.

Try some E3 spark plugs - really hard to foul out. Even when my o2 sensor was gone and typicall plugs would only get me 300 miles the e3 ran and ran.

Agreed, wouldn't run them even in a lawn mower. I run ngk in absolutely everything, mower, truck, bike etc imo they are the only plug on the market.

So odd how we all have different results. NGK's didn't last one month in one of my bikes.
