Its been 6 months and I'm still getting used to it. But it is great after 40+ years of bustin ass with 2 jobs, but I feel good about the decision I made and how much of a difference it has made me feel, no stress, no worries

Really? I'm no expert by any means, I am just sticking with Mobil-1 cause that's what was used in it before I got it and I have heard great things about it.

By all means use what been used before. Don't get me wrong Mobil 1 is good I just think Amsoil is better.

I knew a guy that sold amsoil and showed me all the test results, did seem like the better choice for everything but I never plan for oil changes, just decide to do it one day. So for me Mobil 1 is just more convenient. Maybe one day I'll smarten up and buy shit ahead of time.

I use Mobil 1 too only cuz it's cheaper and easier to get here locally. Bought my K&P type oil filter from Curtis and works great!

When you really get down to it, these oils are some of the best and capable of lasting thousands of miles longer than what we put on them anyway, I change the oil yearly or every 2000-2500 miles anyway. I run Mobil 1 in all my vehicles and again, I change it yearly or every 4000 miles, but I buy it when its on sale and for $4.50/quart, which is the price of regular oil, why not change it.

Same here. I have a hard time keeping up with mileage so I just change when I feel it needs it. If I have a particularly long riding season, I will change it a few times during the summer.

dumb question on the k&p do you change element or is it cleanable when doing oil changes?

You clean the inner filter, my personal feeling is I don't want to fuss with the mess, kinda old school when you would washout and reuse the air filters years ago. soak them in oil, remember

I just received my K&P oil filter from Mad Dog from Valueteck yesterday went with the gloss black diamond cut one to match the heads. I am at work today so I guess tomorrow the bike will be on the lift getting new filter and oil.

I buy the Harley oil filter. I noticed using there filter I don't have to remove that thing on the front of the motor to get the filter off. When I use fram filter I have to remove that piece. I do once a year oil change with a filter change halfway through the summer.

Wash it with (your kitchen´s De-greaser) rinse thoroughly and dry it (with your wife´s hair dryer if in a hurry) and u r good to go!!
