I have a similar issue... When I hit run the fuel pump doesn't pressurize.... Check engine light is on... Thought it was the fuel pump so I changed it and have everything back together with the same results... I have to find time to troubleshoot but if anyone has some insight I'd appreciate it... Btw sorry to hijack your thread.

Check out a few previous threads below. I recommend you methodically walk through the system and very each part until you find the issue. Do you have the schematic? If not I can provide. If you need help understanding it, I can walk you through it along with some simple diagnostics.

Im hoping someone can help me with a little different issue. Sometime not all the time when Im riding the engine check light comes on the bike act like its losing power than the light goes out in everything is ok. Sometime the same thing happens, but the bike will shut down. its a 08 k9 efi. I'll have change plugs and wire. Is it possible that gas cap could be the problem? If anyone has had a issue similar to this?
Thanks for your help!

Do you have protune from S&S. If not download and start with what faults you are logging.

Every time the light comes on, you are setting and storing a fault. That info is critical to understanding what's occurring.

Ground to black box losing memory? I think it might be something like this, not sure, but a grain of salt helps.
1. Man, you'd think a loose wire would be loose and not fire the bike back up so fast.
2. Are we with the most buggy kind of way too many bugs in a certain brain box? Who made the ECU/DTT Box? Name on it?
3. An then if that's the problem child of too many bugs with good grounds all around.

Sometime the same thing happens, but the bike will shut down.
That's watt I'm saying. I'm guessing here. For some reason I'd have to DTT and lose RAM to stop running. I toggle back to ROM to start, because key off I ground everything volatile. But the battery is keeping some things saved in the hard parts (capacitor - (clock)storage file?).

Is it possible that gas cap could be the problem?
You'd think it would be, but gas caps lock the fuel from flowing, not stop occasionally and fire back up.

Without the book to see their troubleshooting code descriptions if any, I'd start at the pump/pressure sensor/spark box/crank sensor and go thru the run loop. Spark box includes coils, key switch, and battery voltage. Sort of following each connector on down to the next jobber's connections. It's not my run button if I can set a code, that being in the ignition group too.

And for both of you, how tight are the battery cables on the battery? White powder stuff growing on the ground cable side?

Thanks guys for all your help , I will troubleshoot with your ideas. Nothing worst then setting on the side of the road with a beautiful bike that doesn't run.
