Saw that the other day on there, if the frame didn't get compromised would be fairly easy to make a good bike out of it. Are you close enough to check it out in person?

Fork tubes are not a big deal, but if wheel is bent, frame, bars..... It may become way more expensive that you think

Ya, if you add $2k to fix it right you are at $8k which is about what you could sell it for so save the time and trouble and buy one running and ride able... If you could get it for $4k then it might be worth it...

I don't think its gonna happen. Someone closer can offer more and still make out. And why he is waiting for the insurance company and listing it don't make sense.

I too would be concerned about the early listing .
But its an easy fix . I'd be at $4K -$4,5k if it were closer to me .
Parts are worth more than that .If you do fix it ,with a salvage title
you wouldn't get more than $6 K anyway . But if your looking for a fun project .
Winters coming .

Very Good point with a Salvage title you won't find anyone to pay more than $6 if it runs and drives even without the compact front end.

The elephant in the room is the neck. I would be concerned if your not going to strip and reweld the neck. It might look fine now.

Also just as a heads up that engine bottom end is unpolished. I really think the look significantly changes for the better with the polished bottom ends. BDM moved to polished in 04 but I think some of the early off the line in 04 got the leftovers from the prior year.

You are right BUT, you would have to strip it, list it, wait around to sell it and probably wind up boxing and shipping most parts which is a big PIA.
I agree. If you sell here on the forum, it might be okay, But if you use eBay, you'll lose 10-20% in fees, commission, and PayPal fees, if you use PayPal. Figure that into your equation to make a decision. Just thinking out loud as I do eBay selling. eBay and PayPal's cut always makes me sad...and PO'd.
