I have my speed sensor disconnected/wires cut, and my self cancel turn signals still work. My stock EHC has been swapped for a Thunderheart module, sigs blink ten times and cancel.

I was thinking about it b4.... WTF have to do sigs blinkers with the Speed Sensor?

I would say your TH module is screwed up, its reading something that is not there, your turn signals should not turn off with the speed sensor gone

The speed sensor is reading the teeth in the gears in the tranny, from the sensor it sends a signal thru the control module, whether it be the ECH or TH and then the module sends the pulse to the speedo, which in turns moves the needle on the speedo

I personally am not a fan of the digital speedo's. Screams 80's to me. There are analog options too.

This is the only analog that I've found that I like. But, I don't think it will fit.

Yep, bunch of them out there. you can even find the OEM ones if you prefer.

Speedo does not work, sensor burnt up. I've got the sensor disconnected and turn signals self cancel like they're supposed too. I'll replace the sensor in due time but meanwhile my sigs do what they're supposed to do and cancel. Don't know why or how, I've read somewhere that this is part of the ECH, TH module. First time that I've ever heard that it's part of the speed sensor. Neutral safety switch maybe, because It does not cancel when in neutral at a light or stop.

Hi to everybody just signed up
I have a 2008 BD Mutt bought new, with about 15,000 miles. Lats weekend I went to a stude club meeting and everything was fine. On the way home my speedo needle pegged on the high side and in the odometer also was running way fast, in about 8 miles it registered about 500 miles. I discounted the seeding unit and the tach worked but no speedo which is what I expected. reconnected it and the same problem.

the wires inside on circuit broad come unsoldered on the inside of the speedo, is and was very common. I am not any good at this new site, but there are some how-toos on here with photos if you can find them. If you want more help you are welcome to call me 717-382-9983 - bruce

I just took an old one apart and they are not repairable, the chrome ring is crimped around the plastic cup, my wires were good but the speedo tool a crap and wouldn't read mph

I'd first interject the 'chemical reaction' which electricity shows as this byproduct say. Heat and magnetism are your other actions. So chemically speaking, red lead, green lead ends look brown and cooked on that round motherboard. What would happen if you remelted the lead, boiled the chemical off the contacts, made a new power entry, a new ground; she starts working again?

You've got nothing to lose short of measuring every part on the board, but it looks clean, no burned spots, sans the red/green leads entering that m-board.
