Where do I send my tins Butch? Lol. Really though, that's a fine job from where I sit.
Thanks
Its been fun learning and hope to continue to improve as I go. But for my experience, I'm happy with how it came out, as with anything there are a few things I'd add or remove now that its done but overall I'm satisfied.

You did it, so you'll see everything that's not right. We see the end result and just appreciate the art of it all. Good job man.

Tank and fenders are wet sanded down to 3000 grit and ready for buffing. It's getting there! Also compounded the enire frame and it came up black again so for now I'm going to wax it to give it some shine and see how it looks with the tins. Really dreading tearing it down to paint the frame, so hopefully it will look ok, soon find out.

WOW!

"Twisted", that looks awesome! :old2:
I will go to you next time for Artwork/Paint.

The gas tank cap flange:
What are you gonna do there to keep the paint down?

My guy put JB Weldon it: top and inside threads; I was told to wait a day or two, then with a sharp knife cut the excess out of the threads and install the flange.

Just curious...

Thanks . Funny you mention that, its exactly why I just logged in, to do some research on the subject. So what did he do, put JB weld on the threads of the gas saver or tank and screw it down? Looks like mine might have been like that, looks like some kind of epoxy was on there.

Yes,
JB Weld gray epoxy smeared it on top of the paint, tape lined off about 1/8" and then smeared some into the female threads down about 5/16". Right now I have a small exacto knife to cut it out of the threads but leave it covering the paint edge outside corner at flange hole...

Very important step to save a paint bubble from happening.

Thumbing through my dictionary, and came to the word
'beauty". Right next to it was a picture of your bike ! Fancy that.
Thanks man, I appreciate it! I'm really happy with how it's come together, and glad I decided to pick up an airbrush and give it a shot. Hopefully I can continue to improve cause I really love doing it!

Looks great Butch, I had heard about the JB weld before around the bung and I do have 2 part JB weld marine which is supposed to be resistant to gasoline, I think I'm going to tape it off and give it a try

Thanks Ker. That's what I'm going to do. Tried looking for a better solution but most just use JB Weld. Seeing as mine had it when I pulled the paint saver and there were no problems I'm just gonna do the same, we will see what happens.
