Nobody has Karata Instructions?
The oring around the case (by the rotor area) seems to pop out (expand) every time i tighten up the karata motor plate! GRRRR. gonna put it in fridge to see i t can shrink it a bit b4 i put it on...
Having trouble with spacers... on clutch hub if i space it out .30thousands (extra width of the compufire rotor/stator) seems it would be sticking out of motor plate a fair bit...
Im prob doing something wrong as i have no instructions for install n this is my first open i have put on. But i would rather do it myself so i know what is going on then have a shop do it. HELP is GREATLY appreciated (im running out of vodka..from frustration)

A big thank you to Slam for getting me the instructions and also to Karata who also sent them. My only issue is that my front pully is 1/8" further out than the rear.... is this normal or needing to be corrected? If so how? (macine down front hub adapter that connects the front pulley onto the shaft?) I cannot space rear pulley do to the spacer moving the starter ring gear further away from the starter...

question 2:
I had a bandit clutch in my CLOSED primary. Can i use that clutch in the Open Karata? The bandit pack is almost twice as many clutches as the karata or stock setup. I understand the Karata is dry and the closed is wet, but the clutches look identical....

Thank you in advance.

The front pulley should be in line with the rear. Check to make sure it's torqued all the way down, I had the same problem and had to run the nut down hard.

I don't think you can use your old clutch

N my outer gasket around the motor keeps bubbling up when i torque the karata plate up... GRRRRR

Something sounds Mis aligned! Was there a spacer installed on your magneto (cover)? If so you may need to remove it

A few things that I can think of:
Make sure your stator is seated all the way down.
Not sure what spacers you have but you may not need them depending how the stator sits on motor.
Again check you front pulley , from your pictures it look like the gap is too far.
Check your inner primary may not be aligned and that is causing the oring to bind

Ok thank you I will check all that when I get back home... On the road for 2 weeks but will be running it through my mind the whole time.
When I put my front pulley on I noticed I need a washer/spacer inside the pulley as the spine shaft extends out too far so the nut hits the shaft b4 tightening the pulley down

I don't think that sounds right!

Your motor pulley will ride pretty far out due to the thicker spacer that comes with the 3 phase charging system. I remember measuring my stock spacer to the 3 phase system spacer and it was quite a bit more thicker. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to space out the rear pulley safely to make it work. I was thinking about adding a Karata 4" to my Ridgeback but no-one could give me a firm answer as to how to space out the rear pulley to make it work. I'm currently running a Karata 4" on my 08 Mastiff with an original charging system and had to space the rear pulley out an additional .050" to get the pulleys lined up using a Bandit clutch set-up. I really wouldn't go much more than that to be on the safe side.

An option you can go with would be to put an original charging system back on the scoot in order to run the Karata. If you don't want to do that, then maybe call Karata and asked what they would suggest.
