I thought my clutch cable snapped but when I got it apart it's not what else could it be?

If you want to try something without having to remove the primary cover, take the primary inspection cover off and pull the clutch in and see if the primary chain moves, that would also tell you if the clutch hub nut is loose or a broken basket, if it moves, you gonna have to pull the primary cover anyway to investigate further.

are you locking the jam nut inside the rubber boot about half way down the clutch cable???????? slide the boot out of the way and make sure it's tightened. sorry if you have already done this, never hurts to mention the obvious.

I finally found out that I was having so much trouble with it because the nut was stripped, I stripped the nut on the slack adjuster on the cable. Did a quick fix so I can get through tomorrow and I'll take care of it later I'm good to go.

Before I work on my bikes I use "De-Gorilla-Cream" in a tube. I apply that to my wrists only. Weakens the jungle out of the joints. Try it next time...

Which reminds me of that Top Gun scene; where he shows the bike is upside down as how tightly 'inverted' it was... "So, you're the Guy."
